Ecommerce has built and operated its own data center facilities since 2004 in Austria, Kentucky and Ohio. Committed to Quality of Service and high flexibility, Ecommerce has always sought to have direct control over its technology and services, not relying on high-traffic, low security public co-location centers.

The Ecommerce Data Center is most closely defined as a combination of a Tier 2 and a Tier 3 facility, with some Tier 4 aspects. Consisting of 11,000 square feet of dedicated server floor space, the facility is engineered to support 2.5 Megawatts of power distribution, 720 tons of cooling, and approximately 240x 45U racks at full saturation.

This equates to nearly 10,000 physical servers and potentially one million virtual machines at full capacity!

Unlike conventional data centers or co-location facilities, the Ecommerce Data Center is designed specifically to be a hosting environment, with optimized power distribution paths and cooling methods to be as efficient and dense as possible.
